Leading WA Agriculture

Founded in 1912, WAFarmers boasts a membership of over 1,100 farming businesses throughout Western Australia and continues to work directly with farmers on issues related to their on-farm business.

Our Purpose

The Western Australian Farmers Federation (Inc) (WAFarmers) is the largest and most influential agricultural advocacy group in Western Australia.

WAFarmers represents the voice of farmers throughout Western Australia and is continually working towards a more viable, profitable and sustainable future for the agricultural industry.

As part of this pursuit, WAFarmers develops corporate partnerships with companies who provide a service to WAFarmers Members, which place money directly back into farmers’ pockets.

In order to best represent the interests of our members, WAFarmers has 17 zones across WA which are championed by zone presidents and co-ordinators. These individuals work hard to provide grassroots representation relevant to polices that affect on farm sustainability and profitability.

WAFarmers with information that comes direct from the farm. This enables our members to express their views at a local level without having to head to the city.

Our business is a member of WAFarmers because we want to support our industry and ensure farmers have input into the decisions made by governments and others that have such a big impact on how we can farm. Through WAFarmers I have enjoyed meeting and working with some really committed farmers and pastoralists who put in many, many volunteer hours in trying to make a difference for their industry. We all need to do our bit in support of our industry - many voices will give us a stronger voice.

As a farmer I have little influence on important matters such as Live sheep export. Being a member of WAFarmers expands my views and puts them before Government.As a General Council delegate I have a chance to meet and exchange views with top farmers from all around the state.

After about 10 years farming on my own, I was searching for a way to gain knowledge about farming, outside family members, but found it difficult to talk 'farming' with other farmers in the area. As my father had been a member of WAFarmers for a long time, I decided to go to a few meetings and see how it went. It wasn't long before I was 'roped in' and representing the zone. I enjoy on farm research and development information that I get from being a member.

The Commercial Egg Producers Association of WA Inc represents WA egg producers and has been affiliated with WAFarmers since 1995, using their position to advocate for members at State Government level.

Being a WAFarmers member means I have access to information and networks that allow me to keep up to date on agricultural issues, the ability to have input into these issues and have my concerns voiced to the people in the right places.
