Continuation of Industry Funding Schemes

The three Industry Funding Scheme (IFS) regulations expire on 30 June 2015. As per the regulations, these can be extended if their continuation is likely to benefit the relevant WA industries.

DAFWA is currently consulting key industry and government stakeholders to gather information that will enable informed decisions regarding the continuation of the Industry Funding Schemes — particularly, the benefits of the IFSs to the Western Australian cattle, sheep, goats and or grains, seeds and hay industries.

The consultation period is now open. Therefore, Executive Officer Maddison McNeil would like members to submit their feedback in regard to the following questions:

  1. What do you see as the main benefits of the IFSs?
  2. To what extent do the IFSs support industry competitiveness and sustainability?
  3. What are the benefits of having the Schemes controlled by industry?
  4. Do you think the IFSs should continue until (at least) 30 June 2020? Explain.

If you have information or comments to contribute to this submission, please contact Executive Officer Maddison McNeil on (08) 9486 2100 or email [email protected]
