Dairy visits to boost involvement

WAFarmers is seeking to involve dairy farmers in the organisation throughout 2014 with support from national body Australian Dairy Farmers (ADF).

One day each month, WAFarmers Dairy Executive Officer Stephanie Tarlinton, accompanied by a member of the Dairy Council, will travel to the farms of members and non-members as part of a Dairy Members Day initiative.

Dairy Section President Phil Depiazzi said the visits would be an opportunity for two-way communication between the peak lobby group and farmers.

“By taking time to meet with dairy farmers face-to-face and one-on-one, we can gather feedback about the issues most affecting those in our industry, ensuring we are focusing our efforts in the appropriate areas,” Mr Depiazzi said.

“At the same time, it will give us an opportunity to inform farmers about the work being done on their behalf by WAFarmers and ADF to enable them to continue operating their businesses effectively.”

WAFarmers successfully secured funding from the ADF Project Fund for the Dairy Members Day initiative. The next Day will be in late April.
