Esperance fire brigades celebrated at local Zone Meeting

The efforts of the Esperance Rural Fire Brigades were celebrated at the recent WAFarmers Esperance-Ravensthorpe Zone Meeting, with 24 chest fridges being delivered to representatives from the brigades.

The 32 litre Engel fridges, which were purchased using funds raised by St Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School for the WAFarmers Fire Appeal (Esperance), were handed over to representatives from each brigade at the Zone Meeting last week.

WAFarmers Chief Executive Officer Stephen Brown said fridges were identified as an item of need by firefighters.

“It was decided by the WAFarmers Fire Appeal team that it would be beneficial to use the funds raised to support the local Esperance volunteer brigades by fitting each of their fire vehicles with a fridge that would keep food and water cool and secure when attending fires,” Mr Brown said.

“The fire brigades had indicated that this was something they could do with and that the items would last for a long period of time.

“We would like to thank the students, staff and families of St Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School and the wider Karrinyup school community for their generous support.”
