Exclusive tour a delight for the senses

Networking, nibbles and nature’s nectars await attendees to an exciting event for all young people interested in the origins of gourmet food and produce.

WAFarmers’ young farmers group, AgConnectWA, will host the AgTiki Tour next month – an enticing tour for the senses through the Swan Valley which will provide an opportunity to meet like-minded young people.

A coach will take the group to several locations on Saturday, September 14, where attendees will indulge in fresh local produce and get a behind-the-scenes look at the processes behind gourmet fare.

AgConnectWA President Andrew Whitelaw said the event was not restricted to people working in the agriculture industry.

“The AgTiki Tour, supported by Westpac Agribusiness, is open to anyone who likes gourmet produce or is interested in how food goes from farm to plate,” he said.

“It will be an excellent way to meet new people who share your interests, and possibly make some valuable networking connections.

“There are limited spaces available on the tour, so I urge anyone who is interested to register as soon as possible to ensure they don’t miss out on experiencing the excellent produce of a region that is right on the doorstep for many of us, but we seldom get the chance to visit.”
