Farm household allowance changes

While it is still unclear about the Western Australian eligibility criteria of much ofthe $324 million drought assistance scheme, WAFarmers reminds growers that the Farm Household Allowance Scheme has been brought forward from July 1, 2014 to March 1, 2014.

Called the Interim Farm Household Allowance, it replaces the Transitional Farm Family Payment (TFFP), and has more generous eligibility criteria, including a higher nett farm asset threshold.

Those who were previously receiving the TFFP for a full twelve months can now apply to have their payment re-start, whilst current TFFP recipients continue onto the IFHA automatically.

It’s important not to self-assess. There may be aspects regarding your business that may influence eligibility. Please contact the Drought and Farmer Assistance hotline on 132 316 to apply, or for more information.
