Get more info on concessional loans at upcoming field days (DAFWA)

Farm business managers can find out more about concessional interest rate loans at upcoming field day events in Dowerin, Newdegate and Mingenew.

The second application round of the Australian Government’s Farm Finance Concessional Loans Scheme is open in Western Australia.

The scheme assists farm businesses who are experiencing some debt servicing difficulties but are commercially viable in the longer term, by providing loans at a concessional interest rate to undertake productivity enhancement activities.

The scheme is funded by the Australian Government and delivered by the Rural Business Development Corporation (RBDC) on behalf of the Western Australian Government.

RBDC chairman Rob Sands said there are $25 million in loan funds available for the second and final application round, which runs until 30 April 2015 or earlier, if funds are fully committed.

“Farm businesses can apply for loans between $50,000 and $400,000 to enhance their long-term productivity,” Mr Sands said.

“I urge those attending field days at Dowerin and Newdegate, or the Mingenew Expo, who are interested in these loans to have a chat with officers who will be on hand with full information about the scheme.”

Officers will be available at the Department of Agriculture and Food (DAFWA) shed along Uberin Street at the Dowerin Machinery Field Days on 27 and 28 August.

Officers will also be available at the DAFWA shed on machinery site 17 at the Newdegate Machinery Field Days on 3 and 4 September and the Family Interest Marquee at site 514 at the Mingenew Lions Midwest Expo on 18 and 19 September.

Officers will also be available to assist with queries about the Drought Concessional Loans Scheme, which is scheduled to open soon.

More information about the Farm Finance and Drought concessional loans schemes are available at www.agric.wa.gov.au/rbdc or free call 1800 198 231.
