Member survey results highlight importance of voice within ag industry

WAFarmers Chief Executive Officer Stephen Brown said the results from the latest WAFarmers Member Survey were overwhelming positive, with 98.46 per cent of respondents satisfied with how WAFarmers represented the interests of members.

“We were most encouraged by the results of the survey, especially the fact that almost all respondents said they were satisfied with our performance,” he said.

“Additionally, 93.85 per cent of respondents said they would recommend a WAFarmers Membership to others – we are heartened to know that our members think so highly of our service.

“One comment that stood out was that a WAFarmers Membership ‘allows us to be involved in how our advocacy group is going to shape the future of our industry’, and we hope that we can continue to effect positive change throughout the sector with the support and guidance of our members.

“We always encourage members to talk to us about any issues of importance to them so that, together, we can work towards a more viable, profitable and sustainable future for the agricultural industry.”

Mr Brown said a recurring theme throughout the responses was that farmers needed to support their industry and have a voice.

“WAFarmers represents the voice of farmers throughout Western Australia, so the importance of clear communication between members and WAFarmers cannot be overstated,” he explained.

“We value support, advice and input from our members, so we encourage everyone to speak to family and friends about becoming WAFarmers Members.

“Just for completing the survey, a member from Cranbrook (Albany Zone) has had his WAFarmers Membership paid in full for one year, so we encourage all members to speak up next time we put out a survey.

“We would like to thank all members who took the time to participate in the survey, and assure them that their comments will be considered when making decisions about the future direction of the organisation.”
