Park Re-Elected President at Conference

Badgingarra cattle and sheep farmer Dale Park has been re-elected unopposed as WAFarmers President for a second and final two-year term at the 2014 WAFarmers Annual General Meeting.

While Senior Vice President Tony York was also re-elected unopposed, Esperance farmer Marg Agnew was elected to the position of Vice President, replacing Max Watts.

“I am grateful for the confidence bestowed upon me by WAFarmers members during my first term and look forward to continuing to fight for the best outcomes for Western Australian agriculture for a further two years,” Mr Park said.

“I would like to extend my thanks on behalf of the organisation to Max Watts for his four years served as Vice President.

“Newly-elected Vice President Marg Agnew has a long association with this organisation and agriculture in this State. Her passion for the industry and personal drive will serve her well as she takes up this role.”

During the second day of the WAFarmers 2014 Annual Conference, held at the Vines Country Club and Resort and sponsored by Coles, the executive members of all other commodity councils were returned unopposed.

This morning, Ed Rogister was elected to a third term as Wool Section President and Jeff Murray to a seventh term as Meat Section President.

During the Grains Section conference this afternoon, Kim Simpson was re-elected unopposed as Section President.

The WAFarmers 2014 Annual Conference concludes this evening with a Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony, featuring guest speaker Danny Green.
