Rejection of AGC proposal by CBH

Following the rejection of the Australian Grains Champion’s proposal by CBH Board, WAFarmers Grains Council President Duncan Young said the Council appreciated the concerns raised by CBH Board during the due diligence process.

“A number of the concerns highlighted by CBH were the same as those of the Grains Council, which were raised when we met with both CBH and AGC at our last Grains Council meeting,” Mr Young said.

“We encourage CBH to use the consultation period to allow growers to look at the possible structures for CBH in the future, to maximise value for farmers.”

Mr Young said the Grains Council had a keen interest in making sure that it completely understood the full range of options and implications of this and future proposals.

“This is the time that growers need to have their say,” he said.

“We look forward to thoroughly reading the briefing from CBH before we make further comment.”
