While the round one application period for farm businesses to apply for loans under the Farm Finance Concessional Loans Scheme (the scheme) for Western Australia has now closed, a second application round will open on 1 July 2014 through to 30 April 2015, subject to available funds. Application documentation will be available at agric.wa.gov.au/farmfinance from early June.
Farm Finance is an Australian Government initiative that aims to build the ongoing financial resilience of farm businesses. The scheme is funded by the Australian Government and delivered by the Rural Business Development Corporation (RBDC) on behalf of the Western Australian Government.
In Western Australia, the scheme is assisting farm businesses that are experiencing some debt servicing difficulties but are considered commercially viable in the longer term, by providing loans at a concessional interest rate to undertake productivity enhancement activities
A total of 44 applications were received during the first application round, which closed last week on 30 April 2014.
