WAFarmers welcomes Liberals commitment to farmers

The Western Australian Farmers Federation (Inc.) (WAFarmers) has welcomed the WA Liberal Party’s agricultural policy.

WAFarmers President, Dale Park, said until now, the Liberals had been very quiet on agriculture during the election campaign.

WAFarmers released its 10 Key State Election Issues last month and Mr Park said the Liberals agricultural policy ticked a lot of boxes.

“We have assessed the major political parties on their position in regards to our 10 key issues and it sure does illustrate where they stand on agricultural policy and what is important to rural people,” Mr Park said.

“The big challenge now is for the other political parties to make it crystal clear on where they stand on our issues before we go to the polls.”

Mr Park said regardless of the election result, WAFarmers would be holding the new State Government to account on these 10 key issues over the four year term of government.

“We will be keeping the new State Government honest and ensuring it is delivering on these issues and keeping its election promises,” Mr Park concluded.
