As a result of discussions regarding the Boyanup sale yards at a late 2014 Busselton Zone Meeting, Simon Brown and WAFarmers CEO Stephen Brown met with the South West Development Commission in Bunbury in February for an update on the sale yards and the SWDC plan in general.
Whilst the Boyanup sale yards are safe until 2021 or thereabouts, WAFarmers are still concerned about the plans for this facility, or its replacement, after this date.
As a result of this meeting with the SWDC, WAFarmers have been included in the contact and consulting list of interested parties for future developments. This inclusion has resulted in WAFarmers being interviewed and included in the recent independent Consultants Report commissioned by SWDC. These yards are an ongoing issue but WAFarmers are now included in the consultation process and we will update our members periodically.
