Following the previous success of Western Australian applicants, WAFarmers is encouraging all young people who are committed to the Australian beef industry to apply for the 2015 NAB Agribusiness Beef Industry Rising Champions Initiative.
WAFarmers meat council member Hayley Goad was the WA State finalist in 2014, while Blythe Calnan and Stephanie Coombes, the 2013 and 2012 State finalists, became the overall national champions in their respective years.
The initiative is in its fifth year and aims to inspire, empower and support young people who are passionate about the Australian beef industry and provide them with an opportunity to be directly involved.
2014 State finalist and livestock administrator Hayley Goad said it was a fantastic experience.
“I met great people who work in an industry which I think is the best in Australia,” Miss Goad said.
2013 national champion Blythe Calnan said the initiative offered her outstanding opportunities and she was grateful for the experience.
“I have travelled internationally with the program and developed a network in Australia and around the globe that is helping me on my journey in the beef industry,” Ms Calnan said.
Young individuals between the age of 21 and 35 are invited to apply before midnight on 31 May, 2015.
Ends.
