WAFarmers Survey on the Failure of Genetic Traits in Truflex Canola

In 2026, growers across WA have found that certain Truflex RR canola varieties have lost their glyphosate tolerance when sprayed between budding and 50% first flower (the Truflex Window).

This is thought to be caused by environmental stresses such as moisture deficit or frost.

It has caused severe adverse crop effects including pod abortion, reduced crop branching and reduced plant vigour generally.

It is anticipated that this will lead to significant crop yield reductions of 60-70% which growers can ill-afford in year of extreme input costs and, in many cases, decile 1 rainfall.

WAFarmers is collecting the initial evidence to ascertain how many people are affected and the degree of the damage. If you think your canola has been impacted, please complete the survey.
