AgConnectWA bridging agricultural gap, with Richard Goyder

AgConnectWA and PerthYP have teamed up to deliver a not-to–be-missed event for any young professional in WA.

Wesfarmers Managing Director Richard Goyder AO will be the keynote speaker Rural Roots to City Suits, an event aimed at bridging the gap between agriculture and business in the city.

The event was announced at tonight’s AgConnectWA Swan River Cruise in front of a crowd of over 150 people.

AgConnectWA Secretary Wes Lefroy initiated the event and said the presentation would highlight the gap between rural and urban understandings of agriculture and how it translated into business.

“This event will give young professionals the opportunity to listen and learn from Richard’s experience in business in WA and let them ask the questions that are important to them,” he said.

“AgConnectWA chose Richard as keynote speaker as he has a connection with the land and has used these skills to become successful in business.

“His extensive experience will provide invaluable insight into the opportunities of rural and city-based business working closer together.

“The two communities must embrace each other to ensure long term success.”

Formalities will be followed by refreshments and an opportunity for attendees to network with like-minded individuals.

AgConnectWA attracts members from regional and metro areas, who are brought together by a common interest in agriculture and who eagerly contribute to ensuring that agriculture has a viable, sustainable and profitable future.

PerthYP is a Perth-based networking group which comprises of over 2,000 business professionals under the age of 35 years.
