AgConnectWA has welcomed the election of a new committee, following their Annual General Meeting this afternoon.
Former Secretary Wes Lefroy was elected unopposed to the position of President, former general committee member Maddison McNeil was elected as Vice President, and Bailiwick Legal Solicitor Mari Takla was elected as Secretary.
Eight nominations were received for the five available general committee member positions, with Hayley Goad, Henry Gratte, Georgia Reid, Lachlan Hunter (incumbent) and Callum Wesley (incumbent) successfully elected to the positions by the members of AgConnectWA.
Mr Lefroy acknowledged the dedication of former President Kallum Blake and former Vice President Katie Pole, saying that their drive and determination to expand upon existing opportunities for young people in the agricultural sector over the past few years had developed AgConnectWA into the highly respected organisation it is today.
The AGM was held as part of the 2016 Innovation Generation Conference at the Rendezvous Hotel, Scarborough.
Held in partnership with Grain Growers, the Innovation Generation Conference, now in its 10th year, is the premier conference for farmers and agriculture professionals under the age of 35. The theme for 2016 is The eXport factor: Australian ag on the world stage.
