Water and time a must on NVDs

WAFarmers would like to remind members that they must include the time-off water and departure time for livestock when filling out National Vendor Declarations (NVDs). At last audit, Muchea reported 50 per cent of NVDs did not include this piece of information. Submission on Future of Beekeeping

The WAFarmers Beekeepers Section will be making a submission on the future of beekeeping and pollination service industries in Australia. On December 12, 2013 the Senate referred the matter to the Senate Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport References Committee for inquiry and report by March 26 2014.  The Beekeepers Section will be making a submission by February 7, 2014. Future CRC Funding Needed

WAFarmers has written to appropriate State and Federal Ministers urging them to continue funding Co-operative Research Centres (CRCs) such as the Sheep CRC indefinitely. Historically, the Federal government provides funding for industries to undertake research within industries. Currently, the CRC’s have a limited life span.  WAFarmers believes that if a CRC is performing well against its Key Performing Indicators then it should continue to be funded and provide benefits to industry.
