Skeleton Weed Contributions Rise

The Grains, Seeds and Hay Industry Funding Scheme (IFS) Management Committee is seeking feedback on a proposal to increase the Grains, Seeds and Hay (IFS) contribution rate to from 30 cents per tonne of grain/seed sold to 35 cents and 15 cents per tonne of hay to 17 cents.

The Committee surveyed growers in 2013 with 86 per cent of the 474 growers wanting to maintain a program to address skeleton weed.

The Committee has advised that increasing costs and an increasing area of skeleton weed infestation has resulted in the proposal to raise the rate marginally.

Members who would like to give feedback can contact Danielle Whitfield on (08) 9486 2100 or [email protected] by 12 February.
