Feedback Required on Transport Issues

The Department of Agriculture & Food (DAFWA) have commissioned a team to help identify where industry is suffering from the ‘red tape’ and bureaucratic inefficiencies emanating from poor policy and practice that plagues the transport industry.

Whilst WAFarmers has successfully worked on, and continues to work on identifying the ‘red tape’, and providing solutions for industry, feedback from individual farm families is useful to augment the issues that are identified through Zone meetings.

WAFarmers has been asked to compile a ‘short-list’ of the main transport issues that affect farm businesses  that are result of poor policy and/or legislative design, or issues in the implementation, interpretation and communication of the policies.

This short list would be more valuable if it excluded the obvious and current issues that WAFarmers have identified and are progressing, such as Tier 3 Rail, national licencing charges and road funding.
