Public Consultation on the proposed Australian Animal Welfare Standards and Guideline and Guidelines for Livestock in Saleyards is now open.
This guideline will aim to improve and harmonise rules nationwide, for the care and management of livestock during their transition through saleyards in WA.
WAFarmers is seeking member advice on any relevant issues regarding:
- How the proposed Saleyard Welfare Standards will ensure the welfare of livestock
- How the consultation Regulation Impact Statement (RIS) demonstrates the need for the standards, and identifies costs and benefits for livestock owners/buyers/saleyard operators/agents/government/and the wider community.
