WAFarmers welcomes funding to control wild dogs in WA

The Western Australia Farmers Federation Inc (WAFarmers) welcomes an announcement by Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) to provide $1 million for the control of wild dogs.

WAFarmers Wool Section President, Ed Rogister, said wild dogs were a continuing threat to the sheep industry in Western Australia.

“The funding will assist existing and new groups to manage wild dog populations at a regional, local and farm level,” Mr Rogister said.

“The application process is very straight forward and can be done electronically. Applications need to outline the particular problem, what needs to be done and how the funds will be used.

“I would like to encourage as many local groups as possible to apply for funding to be put to good use,” Mr Rogister concluded.

To apply, groups should download and complete the application form from www.wool.com/pestanimals and submit with a project budget and map to  [email protected].
